Why I don’t defend my beliefs.
Updated: May 26, 2020
As tempting as it might be, I have decided against defending my beliefs for a couple for reasons. And lately, because of these reasons, I have felt the need to defend them even less.
Beliefs are something like whether we believe in god, whether capitalism is good, etc. There is no right or wrong. No beliefs are superior. My beliefs are mine, and yours are yours. As much as I try to change or influence someone’s beliefs, I cannot. No amount of smart-ass arguments is going to work.

Often, defending ours takes the form of attacking other people’s. These turn into win-or-lose arguments, which I completely want to avoid. And, you end up wasting a lot of time, for no reason.
On top of it, I recently came across this somewhere,
There is no point. If you believe in something, then it shouldn’t require defending.
